About our Language Programs
What We Offer
At Wyndham Central College we offer the Spanish, Japanese and Hindi languages.
In Year 7, students choose two of the three languages, studying each for one session per week over a six-month period, this is for students to gain experience into both languages and culture before making a selection to which language to study in year 8.
In year 8 students do a language for one session a week for the whole year. This gives students a greater understanding of the language and culture and builds the foundation for year 9 languages.
In year 9 students do a language for two sessions per week for the whole year. This gives students the foundations for languages in year 10.
In year 10 students do a language for two sessions per week for the whole year. This prepares students for languages in VCE.
In year 11 and 12 students can continue with the language to further their studies to get them into University or a chosen career pathway.

Spanish Immersion Program
Language learning through immersion.
The Spanish Immersion Program at Years 7-10 provides a total language experience where students can learn Spanish more naturally through everyday classroom conversations and through subject content instruction.
